This delightful pot has many uses. It is carved from multi-colored kisii stone (sometimes referred to as soapstone) which is a relatively new concept that is currently very popular. Natural dyes are absorbed by this stone giving it a colored appearance. Once each carving has been hand dyed it is engraved by a craftsman through the dyed layer to further embellish the carving. This pot would make a great gift for the beginning collector. Hand created items are always similar, but no two pieces are "exactly" alike, which adds to their value.
