Now, you know that there's no single, magic solution that will totally transform your home. Decorating is a process--many ideas that combine into a beautiful overall design. It doesn't matter if you're sprucing up a corner of your bathroom, or redecorating your bedroom or your entire home, it's easy to include Africa-inspired colors and patterns in fabrics and accessories--while maintaining your current decorating scheme--if you know how to do it. I'll show you how.

There are literally hundreds of ways to introduce the look and feel of Africa into your home or office, and I've tried many of them. Now you can see some of my tips and tricks for creating your own unique Africa-style environment. However you want it--low key or all out, just a little bit or a lot--decorating Africa-style is fun, fulfilling and affordable.

One thing I should mention right off the bat is that you must reject conventional ways of thinking. The real key to Africa-style decorating is your thinking process. You must THINK innovative and alternative.

The first thing you need to do is add our site to your bookmarks, so that you can repeatedly take advantage of the decorating techniques, tips and strategies as they're added to our site.

How It All Began

The seeds of AfroDécor were sown during the 1960s, when I started looking for "affordable" home decorating accessories and gifts in patterns and colors that reflected the many cultures of the African diaspora. But I didn't have a clue about how to integrate them into my home, in an appealing manner. Creating AfroDécor is an extension of my search and one of my gifts to you.

AfroDécor provides useful, sometimes ordinary, but mostly unique (one-of-a-kind) home decorating accessories, gifts and ideas for people who like something just a little bit different. We offer you quality products--with an African twist--for the whole house.

What's Available?

- Something for every room in your home--hand carved chairs and stools, candle and compact disc holders, rugs, batiks and korhogos, mud cloth painted fabrics, wood carvings and stone sculptures such as masks, figurines and statues, wall plaques, games, bathroom and kitchen linens that include small appliance covers, kaddie storage/organizers for the bedside, armchair, wheelchair or to hang on the wall, an exciting collection of elegant vases decorated with Africa-inspired patterns and colors, as well as table covers, place mats, and napkins to dress up your dining area. Most of our fabrics are also available by the yard.

... and Custom Services, too!

The best thing about AfroDécor is that custom services are also available. This means that many of our products can be created in almost any fabric, yours or ours. We can also create other items especially for you such as curtains, bed throws, pillow shams and slipcovers, using any of our fabrics. If you would like more information about our custom design services, please e-mail us at Custom Services.

I might add that all of our products make great gifts. Our special gift services include wrapping and shipping of your selection at no additional charge to you beyond the normal shipping charge. We will even include a special message if you wish. Just be sure to include the gift recipient's name, complete address (if you want us to mail the gift to them), and requested "deliver by " date in the comments section of our secure online order form. Gift Certificates and Bridal Registry services are also available! Please inquire.

I hope your tour through our site is pleasant. I look forward to helping you select unique, practical Africa-inspired decorating accessories and gifts. At AfroDécor, we're constantly looking for new and different decorating accessories to add to our collection, so, if you don't find what you're looking for this time, remember to bookmark our site and surf back often. I know that you'll find something here that you like, real soon. Please enjoy your visit!
