These beautiful elephants from kisii stone are hand carved by "master carvers" of the Akamba tribe in Kenya. Master carvers use only a chisel and rough file, no electrical tools are used at all. Sandpaper is used to achieve the final smooth finish. Hand carved items are always similar, but no two pieces are "exactly" alike, which adds to their value.
